Is the time right for you to start looking at First Communion dresses for your little girl? Here are some guidelines that will help you decide if she is ready, and what you will need.
First Communion dresses are traditionally white satin with lace, beads or other tasteful embellishments. Most often the girls are required to wear white gloves and a halo of white flowers with or without a veil. White viking shirts without a heel and white socks are recommended. All the white is symbolic for purity of the heart.
Don’t wait until the last minute to look for the communion dress. Shop early so you will find what you are looking for and not have to settle on just any dress. If you are ordering it online allow plenty of time for the dress to be shipped. You want to make sure you have enough of time to have it altered if needed. Once the dress is just like you want it you may like to have your daughter’s picture taken. It is best to plan this before the day of the communion.
